A Day in Athens

After our day in Geraki, we packed up the bread delivery van and made our way to Athens. We were staying a few miles from the center on the coast. Being that it was Sunday evening when we arrived, we walked around the hotel area (shopping district area) and grabbed dinner before calling it a night.
Early Monday morning, we got out the door heading into the center.
At the metro:

Walking towards the Acropolis/Parthenon:

We saw this abandoned building... full of trash, bottles, clothes, shoes, and sleeping bags.

These gentlemen were in line behind us waiting to buy tickets to the Acropolis/Parthenon. Jen noticed their running physic and started talking to them about the marathon yesterday... they ran.. she wish she did... and then once we entered... my 3 sisters and mom asked if they would take our picture... together.... so I got them... taking our picture... but didn't get a copy of their picture. oh well.

One of my favorites!!
Local street vendor artist... happy to be doing business with us... she couldn't believe how many names we wanted painted on wood that she called her husband... who left work to help her. They said he would make more money with the paintings than at work... so we placed our orders and waited to pick the final product...
At lunch... Trina bought something from the street sellers...
After we ate- we walked around the city, through almost every tourist and local shop there was, walked some more until it was time to pick up our name plates.
Picking up the art...

Putting the finishing touches on it:
and signing them:
We didn't make it inside before they closed.... so this was the best shot I got...

Tuesday morning we got up and ready to catch our flight to Spain....
but couldn't leave without seeing the ocean...

... or grab a bite to eat... at this fantastic bakery...
....complete with dog parking....
At the airport... moving on to Spain!!
... and on the plane... selfies all around!!
Spain... he we come!!

Although getting here was not, Greece was fantastic! It is so much fun being with my mom and sisters again... how have I gone so long without them all?! I was so excited they were coming to Spain for a week... so we could go around and spend more time together... in the place I love so much!
