Mom and Dad part 4

Ok- I know... I take a LOT of pictures but in my defense, they were here for 3 weeks and we did something almost every day!!

One thing we really wanted to do while they were here was go to Granada and visit the Alhambra.  This is a palace and fortress built by the Muslims.  On the drive there, Morgan got sick and Steve was nice enough to head home with her and Liam so we could continue on.  We arrived a few hours early (from the scheduled time we could get into the Alhambra) and decided to walk around the town a little.  First stop in town... ice cream!

The Alhambra was beautiful.  It is difficult to put into words how amazing this place is.  Pictures do not do it justice... but here they are.

For dinner we at at Castellana and it was delicious!!

Sunday morning, we headed home pretty early.  Had Steve and the other two kiddos been with us, we would have gone back into town and walked around a bit more but we felt bad for leaving them behind and decided to head home. On the way, we saw a little bit of everything... including SNOW!!
Monday came way too fast!!  It was time to load up the car and take mom and dad back to the train station.  I am so grateful for the opportunity we had to spend 3 weeks with them, show them around southern Spain and most importantly, watch my dad baptize my little girl.  Thanks so much dad for preforming her baptism and for the best 3 weeks!!  Love you guys so much.

Mom and Dad part 3

Of course the first time of the soccer season (October-May) Aydin has a game on Sunday.  We gave him the choice of playing or not and he chose to play.  His team relied on him.  Mom and dad decided it would be the only time they could watch him play so they got up early and went with Steve, Aydin and Morgan to a little town just north or Jerez.  Liam and I stayed behind to go to church.

It would not be a completed visit with grandma until play dough had been made.  After they got home from soccer, Morgan and mom made dough...

Monday I finally showed them a little of Chipiona.  We began our day at a cafe... something dad has been dying to do and then made our way to the walking street.  We walked all the way to the ocean and then around the lighthouse.

Wednesday we walked to the beach after the kids went to school and tried to catch crabs and fish.

Liam wore himself out at the beach and fell asleep with grandpa on the couch...

Later in the evening, we toured the lighthouse in Chipiona.  Our friend was able to get enough people together for a tour so we could not pass up on this opportunity.  Morgan was not feeling well so she stayed behind with Steve.

Friday we went back downtown when Steve got home from work (early) for a late breakfast/brunch at the same place we went Monday.
