Taking the lead

Most of the time, Liam is not paying enough attention during practice to follow along with everything the coach asks of him... unless he is leading the stretches before they start playing.
I had to get a few pictures of him leading the team today...

Church Primary Program

Every year, the kids in the Primary (ages 3-12) are taught everything from how to be more Christlike to scripture stories. Each year there is a new theme that the monthly theme and lessons are outlined by.  Additionally, each month the kids learn a new song that applies to the monthly teachings. Every fall, the kids show their parents and the rest of the congregation what they have learned in the Primary Program.

Yesterday we went to the church to practice the primary program...

And today... they presented their knowledge and years work to the congregation.

Each kid gave their talks in front of everyone and sang the songs they learned throughout the year. They did so good... and I was so proud of them!!

Happy Baptism Day.... Vega!

Today we were able to celebrate the baptism of Vega... first at the church and then for celebrations at Casa Manolo later. We are so blessed to have such amazing friends who include us in their special day and are so grateful for the opportunity to witness her special day!

After the service, we went to Casa Manolo to hang out, eat and celebrate.
The kids even got their faces painted!

Burnt down

Our beach hangout burnt to the ground last weekend... When we showed up to the beach today we were quite surprised to find out that restaurant we frequented for lunch while spending the day at the beach was cleared out and empty.

Luna Mora

Today we did not plan on going to do a whole lot but its crazy how fast plans change.  After spending the afternoon at the White Party at Luci's chiringuito with amazing friends, we packed up and made a LONG drive to visit a pueblo blanco (white town) just north of Marbella for the festival of lights... and by long drive, I mean almost 3 hours one way to walk around for a few hours only to return home... Throughout the drive there I kept thinking to myself how crazy we were and that it better be something amazing we were about to partake in because it really was a long drive... and even worse... longer because Steve and I were only running on a few hours of sleep from the night before. The closer we got the more be were wondering what in the world we were thinking going so far to spend a few hours to turn around and come back home....
Finally- we made it... to the parking lot... WHAT?!
We arrived in Guaro only to find that the first two exits into town had been blocked off from through traffic for the concert they were having and had to make a 20 minute detour only to find we had to park in a dirt parking lot and get bused into town.

We got in line for the bus... drove the last 10 min into Guaro... and headed straight to the food.  We were all so hungry and the food smelt amazing!!

We finally made it into town and were so happy we made the trip.
The whole town has been lit with 25,000 candles, filled with thousands of visitors and booths of all sorts.
We were extremely happy to find amazing food...

After eating we began walking around.  It was dark by the time we finished eating and the whole town had their candles lit. This was what we came for... candles lit the streets of this little town.  It was awesome and well worth the drive... no matter how tired we were.

The main street lined with booths of crafts, clothes, foods, etc. from locals selling their homemade items.

We stopped so Morgan could get a henna tattoo...
at one of the booths
 Then Liam...
 Walking though the town...

 The streets were packed!!
Here the crowd gathered around to watch a performance:
 More booths:

On the way out- Liam was dying to ride one of the rides... so he chose the merry-go-round:

 ... and loved it!

 My boys.... Love them!!
We left around 10:30 to head home.  On the way home- everyone fell asleep leaving me alone to drive. Im so grateful we made it home... it only took loud music, a full pack of gum, the kids cotton candy bucket, two drinks, and rolling the window down often.... I was SO tired but not as tired as Steve... I couldn't even wake him up to keep me awake.  Never again will I drive home that tired... we should have just stayed the night in Marbella.  Lesson learned... but I am SO glad we went!!

White Party

Today was the final fling at Lucci's chiringuito to close out the summer.  We headed over around 1:30pm to hang out, eat, play, and visit with great friends.
