One Direction Concert- Weekend in Madrid

This year, Morgan got One Direction concert tickets for her birthday and the concert is finally here!!  Although we were tired from our vacation... we gladly arrived at the train station at 8 am in Puerto de Santa Maria headed to Madrid.

On our way...
Morgan and Isabelle
Maria and her niece Hannah
We arrived to Madrid and made our way to the metro system.  Of course not before I tried to get cash at the ATM only to find out the machine was going to steal my card and not return it... BOO.

Hannah trying to find out what metro line we need to get on...
Just waiting for the metro... acting silly

We popped up from the metro station needing a minute to figure out where we were and which way to walk to get to the apartment...

The girls waiting for us to figure out where we needed to go...
Walking to the apartment...
It didn't take too long to find the apartment...
We then settled in a bit... before getting ready for the concert....
Before heading to the stadium... we walked around a bit and grabbed some lunch.

After we ate we got on the metro and got off as close to the stadium as we could... or so we thought.
We are getting closer.... so we think...

FINALLY... after about a 15 minute walk to the stadium... we are HERE.... all we need to do now is find our gate...

What a cluster!!  I do believe Spain is where I could live for the rest of my life but sometimes I think they are so far behind the United States with certain things that it makes me wonder if they will ever catch up... one thing that would be nice is their crowd control!!
First- they did not have the doors open until an hour or so before the concert leaving all of the anxious and excited girls (and even more mothers) outside trying to be the first one in the door... without proper line formation, police control, or courteous people.
It was like a mob outside complete with pushing, shoving, punching, and stepping...
at one point I was wondering how it would be once we got inside... if that ever was going to happen.

Buying shirts and headbands...

What felt like forever and after thinking we were never going to make it through the mob of people without getting hurt... WE ARE FINALLY INSIDE!!!
All of the waiting in the mob was over and now it was time to have a little fun waiting for the concert to start.

Selfies...
SO CLOSE to the stage... it was awesome...
.... until the crowds started filing in making the floor just as crazy as the mob outside the stadium
Waiting for the show to start... This girl behind me would not BACK off!!  She was all up on me... and smelled like B.O. BOO!!
We stayed up front for as long as we could until the girls were no longer having fun... and actually were getting hit by adults.  We made a decision to move to the back of the floor so the girls could have room to dance and breathe... before the second band even finished.

In the back- we met up with other girls (and parents) from the base...

Moving to the back was the best decision ever!!  The girls had such a great time... singing.... dancing... jumping.... and making memories...

PACKED!!!

I even knew some of the songs.... and couldn't help but join in with the singing and dancing...

In the morning we were slow starting.  After a long night, we slept in a bit and then got ready to explore a little of the city.
Breakfast... Dunkin Donuts!!!

Mid afternoon snack... frozen yogurt...

After walking a little more, we took a taxi over to the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch/dinner....
and drove by these beauties:

After eating the ladies were all tired so we began our walk back to the apartment.

They were tired... hot... and their feet were hurting. Girls?!

Saturday morning we got up early to make our way to the train station.
First stop... breakfast then train station...
Inside the station:

Our train is here... and we are going home.
I think it is safe to say the girls had a great time and enjoyed themselves!!  Morgan will remember this concert forever... and I am so glad to have shared this experience with her and spend time with amazing friends at the same time!!
