And entering Munich:
We didn't waste too much time before getting started on walking around...
Rathaus-Glockenspiel- Marienplatz
The new town hall and the home of the largest cuckoo clock in Munich
Human statues:
The only place Steve wanted to eat was the Hofbrauhaus:
inside:
Im not sure the pretzel is big enough:
hot dogs:
AMAZING apple pie:
After dinner we moved to a different table- where we could watch the game- Germany vs. (USA) in the world cup. At half time, Morgan and Liam were done- so Steve and I took Moragn, Liam, and Mackenzie out to walked around, took pictures, and tried to enjoy ourselves while Aydin stayed back with Mike and Rokzanne to watch the second half.
For some reason, Asians (not all... but a lot) can't help but take pictures of Liam whenever they are next to him... this lady had him stand with her for about 5 minutes before I finally took him away. They just love his blonde hair!
Even the local police hated being on the clock for the game... luckily for them... every store in town had the game playing... so they watched from the street... and so did we for a few minutes:
Mike was hilarious and was entreating the kids while we walked... they made a train and walked around for a bit... just like this:
We stopped at this church to grab drinks and let the kids play around for a bit...

St. Michaels Church
Marienplatz

Frauenkirche Church
Munich Residenz- palace
We made it back to the restaurant just as the game was finishing- Germany won and the place was packed full of cheering people! Both Steve and I were sad we missed the second half but also told ourselves that this trip was not for us to watch tv but for the kids to enjoy themselves and see as much as possible... although it was difficult to miss the game.
After the game, we stopped for ice cream and then walked around some more all together.
Mike was hilarious and was entreating the kids while we walked... they made a train and walked around for a bit... just like this:
The National Theatre Munich-
the opera house in Max-Joseph-Platz
We then realized we were
getting hungry again so we walked back to the hotel and ate at the Italian restaurant right under the hotel room.
The food was great and it was a great way to end the evening in Munich... tomorrow we are back on the road and heading to Austria!!
